Friday Nerd Haus Movie: Inland Empire

Inland Empire [1] is a 2006 movie written and directed by David Lynch [2].

It does not have much of a clear plot. It centers around the experience of an actress called Nikki Grace who plays the role of Sue in a movie On High In Blue Tomorrows. The mood is heavy and austere, lighting and color are dark most of the time. There are scenes that are mysterious, surreal, bizarre, weird, horrific, violent, and disturbing. The movie is 3 hours in length, and was produced in Poland and Los Angeles.

It is more of an experimentation/exploration rather than an entertainment movie. In that way, it is not bad, and was named as the 2nd best movie of 2007 by Cahiers du cinema.
